Life Lately

Can't believe it's already February! Seems like January just flew by. I guess that's a good thing considering my feelings in my last post.

My husband was awarded some much needed time off so we are currently residing in the same town again. He is worse than me when it comes to staying busy. I believe he was off work for one day before he started getting bored. Hopefully, he'll figure out something to keep him occupied.

Today, I'm cleaning out my closet. It's a new year and I'm getting rid of stuff that no longer makes me feel good. I seriously have clothes in my closet from high school. I guess it's good I can still fit in them but let's face it sometimes you need a little Va-va-Voom when things from your past just aren't working for you anymore.

For those of you that know me, I am a pretty neutral gal. Most of my wardrobe consists of colors you would use to paint your house. Ivory, white, gray, and light pink and blue hues fill my closet. I don't hate my style. I just believe you should only wear things that make you feel beautiful. Hence... The closet clean out. Oh and I have to make room for my recent steal. This Jacket was on sale for $4.88. As if that wasn't a great price, it was an additional 40% off. That's right it was only $2 bucks and some change. It's not priced that way online but I'm still patting myself on the back for my find.

We recently visited our very best friends from Memphis. They now live in Oxford, Mississippi. It is always great catching up with them. Then we traveled to Memphis for a quick visit. We drove by our first home and feelings of nostalgia almost overwhelmed me. I sure do miss my Tennessee home.
My sweet friend, I mentioned earlier painted us a picture of our home so we could always remember it. She is extremely talented and we will forever cherish this sweet memoir.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I've started sewing again. I'm currently working on a baby gown. I'm not the best but I have a great teacher. My mother in law has taught me everything I know and I can't wait to dress my babies (future) in creations that are handmade with lots of love.

I also plan to start monogramming. My friend from Oxford inspired me to start and my mother in law has a machine she is willing to let me use. So, since I'm still unemployed what better time than the present to start a new hobby. I'll let you know how that goes.

Maybe, I am starting to get the hang of this unemployment thing. Don't tell my husband!
